The average US physician's income rebounded nicely in 2021 as the profession recovered from COVID-19 impacts, but registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) didn't enjoy the same rebound. RNs said their average compensation from salary and bonus rose just 3.6% in 2021, and LPN compensation was flat. The majority of RNs and LPNs said they feel underpaid.
The following infographic explores trends in RN and LPN average compensation, gender disparities, and how nurses feel about their pay. If you're interested in delving deeper into the data, check out the Medscape RN/LPN Compensation Report 2022.
