Angela Christine Argento, MD, looks at the disparities that exist in both the diagnosis and treatment of patients with advanced and metastatic non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and how to confront them with more awareness and better strategies. Dr Argento highlights the fact that in the disparate patient population, including patients of lower socioeconomic status, late diagnosis of advanced and metastatic NSCLC is particularly prominent.

Dr Argento looks ahead to new technologies to help ameliorate decreased access to healthcare and elevate awareness about the disparities in navigating the system.
