Conclusion
The most notable new developments for the management of symptomatic hemorrhoids include hemorrhoid energy therapy and modifying the technique of open hemorrhoidectomy. For anal fissure, the use of LIS for patients with a low risk of fecal incontinence is still the most effective treatment. For anal fistula, adaptations of the LIFT procedure have been described.
