PMBL is a distinctive category of large B-cell lymphoma with aggressive features and curious pathogenetic underpinnings. The approach to diagnosis includes review of histomorphology and immunophenotype, with clinical presentation and staging. The differential diagnosis includes a few closely related neoplasms, including CHL and MGZL, with transitional features of PMBL and CHL. This review discussed 2 cases that highlight key features of PMBL and MZGL and described data supportive of a common origin for these lymphomas.
