The da Vinci SP remains the only FDA-approved robotic surgical system to provide laparo-endoscopic single site surgery.[16] Toronto-based Titan Medical has been in development with a single-port robotics system since at least 2016, the SPORT Surgical System, which would offer 3D-HD visualization, an open console, and a single-arm mobile patient cart with a multiarticulating endoscope that provides six degrees of freedom to expand the abdominopelvic field of view ( Several early, preclinical animal-based studies in 2018 have demonstrated the technical feasibility of the SPORT surgical system in general surgery and urologic surgery, including use in partial nephrectomy and radical prostatectomy.[17]
