Conclusion

Significant progress has been made in the last decade to identify high-risk groups and improvement in imaging techniques. In the future, we need to focus on the accurate identification of high-risk individuals in an automated fashion with the use of EHR and machine learning. We also need to develop validated noninvasive biomarkers that can be used for longitudinal surveillance of high-risk individuals. Lastly, radiomics and artificial intelligence are going to play a crucial role in the early detection of pancreatic cancer.
