Summary
Posttraumatic conversion hip arthroplasty is associated with greater rates of intraoperative and postoperative complications compared with primary total hip arthroplasty. With meticulous patient selection, workup, and preoperative planning, many challenges can be anticipated and risks mitigated to achieve a satisfactory result.
