Indications for hip tarthroplasty in patients with prior trauma are similar to indications for primary arthritis. These include severe debilitating pain that affects quality of life and activities of daily living, and failure of conservative management. In addition to pain, severe limp or leg length discrepancy causing notable functional limitations may also be a consideration for surgical treatment.
