Therapeutic management of pulmonary vasculitis shares some similarities between the different entities affecting the lungs. Alveolar hemorrhage frequently requires urgent treatments to control the underlying disease and provide supportive care. The level of evidence of each treatment strategies varies according to the disease, but treatment is usually based on a combination of glucocorticoids and immunosuppressive agents, especially CYC and RTX. The role of plasma exchanges is in contrast more complicated to define.
