Whose Job Is It?

Immunization is a critical component of adult preventive care. Providers of all types need to be informed advocates for adult immunization if we are to successfully reduce vaccine-preventable disease in the United States. Because adults may not see a primary care provider routinely or at all, all providers need to ensure that patients have been completely vaccinated in accordance with the current expert ACIP 2014 recommendations.
