Imaging
RCC must be distinguished from Wilm's tumor, as the latter may warrant neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Ideal imaging consists of a computed tomography (CT) of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis in the same setting. However, with a sensitivity and specificity of 92 and 55%, respectively, CT has limited value in differentiating Wilm's tumor from RCC, and so treatment must be based on histological data.[19]
