Answer

Answer

An observational study by Sanjak et al concluded that in ambulatory patients with ALS, the 6-minute walk test is a valid means of measuring walking capacity. The report also determined that an association exists between the test and assessments of lower extremity muscle strength and function in patients who ambulate with or without an assistive device.
