A study found that treatment of patients with gastrostomy tubes with Mosapride citrate (a gastroprokinetic agent) was associated with a lower risk of aspiration pneumonia in comparison to both placebo and proton pump inhibitor treatment. [30] This therapy holds promise in this specific cohort of patients.
