Answer

More recently, subjects in the Wisconsin Cohort Study were prospectively monitored for the development of hypertension. The investigators found a dose-response relationship between the degree of OSA and the presence of hypertension 4 years later (odds ratio of 2.03 for an AHI of 5-15 and 2.89 for an AHI >15), independent of confounding variables.
