How are patients monitored during chemotherapy for ovarian cancer?

The NCCN recommends the following for monitoring during primary chemotherapy [45] :

  • Pelvic exams at least every two to three cycles
  • Interim complete blood cell count as indicated
  • Chemistry profiles if indicated
  • CA-125 or other tumor markers as clinically indicated, before each cycle
  • Radiographic imaging if indicated
