Cardiovascular examination may reveal the following:

  • Irregular rhythms (ie, atrial fibrillation): Thromboemboli
  • Murmurs: Endocarditis
  • Pericardial friction rub: Uremic pericarditis
  • Increased jugulovenous distention, rales, S 3: Heart failure
