Leflunomide is an antimetabolite used as a disease-modifying agent in rheumatoid arthritis. It has also been successfully used off-label in both CMV disease treatment and prophylaxis. [76, 77, 78]

Leflunomide failure has been reported in hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients. [79]
