Answer

Answer

Anesthesia

If subconjunctival anesthesia is used, take care to avoid inducing a subconjunctival hemorrhage. If peribulbar or retrobulbar anesthesia is used, excessive amounts of anesthetic could cause a tight orbit and elevated IOP during the procedure. General anesthesia can markedly lower IOP, so the dose and type of preoperative IOP-lowering treatment should be adjusted for such cases.
