HIV-associated retinal microvasculopathy often is asymptomatic and transient, but it may contribute to the optic nerve atrophy seen in many of the patients. Common findings may include the following:

·       Cotton-wool spots

·       Intraretinal hemorrhages

·       Roth spots

·       Retinal microaneurysms
