Answer

Castellino et al reported that combining single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) scanning and MRI appears more useful than the 2 techniques alone and may help the clinician in the assessment of patients with neuropsychiatric involvement, because normal findings contemporarily detected by these 2 techniques have been rarely observed in patients with neuropsychiatric involvement, especially in those with focal manifestations wherein MRI and SPECT scanning were never simultaneously normal.
