Teriflunomide (Aubagio) was approved by the FDA in September 2012 for the treatment of patients with relapsing forms of MS (approved tablet forms are 7 mg and 14 mg). The prescribing information contains a black box warning for the risks of hepatotoxicity and teratogenicity (pregnancy category X). It is an oral pyrimidine synthesis inhibitor for treatment of relapsing forms of MS.
