The older literature indicated that most cases of ulnar compression neuropathy occur in patients older than 35 years. [74] This is consistent with an independent anatomic study of 200 cadavers from 1963, which showed that the ulnar nerve is largest at the entrance to the cubital tunnel and that this enlargement is of maximal size in males older than 35 years. [75] A prospective study of 76 patients published in 2006 showed that increased age is highly correlated with a greater tendency toward ulnar neuropathy. [76]
