Young et al investigated the usefulness of continuous EEG monitoring. Twenty percent of patients recorded seizures. The study suggests that continuous EEG monitoring may be more valuable for detection of seizures in patients with acute structural brain lesions (ASBLs) than in patients with metabolic encephalopathies.
